yeah, they may be, i would think the company would have to stand behind them though. speakin of flimsy though, has anyone seen the clear diff covers and if so maybe u can answer this for me.......WHY?

yes, i agree, a buddy of mine is a pipeline welder, met him by painting his welding bed for him and hes the guy i just painted the trailer for in the pics on my profile. anyways, he bought an 05 around a year ago june, and already has 55000 on his truck and installed that cover and he said it seems to help with cooling of the diff quite a bit. he pulls one huge 5th wheel travel trailer and because of the welding machine behind the cab his hitch is very close to the rear of the bed, so there has to be a bunch of weight on the rear end, i think he said the bed and welding machine togeter weigh like 3700#s. so in that case if there is much of a test on durability of a diff cover, id put it on his rig to find out

The PMLs that I got for my diffs are less than the HyTechs, but they're just clear anodized aluminum (which I prefer) and are VERY thick... I just drillled and tapped one the other day for a temp sensor, and the shell is as thick as the flange.
