I believe that the stage 1 doesn't have as much air flow. It has like a 4'' opening for the air......where the stage 2 has a 6'' opening that pushed the air "down" to 4'' into the turbo. In other words, the torque tube starts off bigger and becomes smaller. Also, the air intake filter is much larger.

I don't have a stage 1.......just the stage 2......but that is my understanding of some of the differences. I am sure that somebody more knowledgeable about the stage 1 can chime in and give more info.

You are correct. The main differences are the size of the filter element and the intake tube to the turbo. The stage I does not have one and only includes the box and conical filter which hooks up to your existing intake tube to the turbo. The stage II will include the down tube which starts out as 6" and then tapers down to 4" at the compressor housing.

The above is correct the Stage I smaller filter and 4" filter inlet, Stage II BIG filter and 6" filter inlet. I have had both. Stage I with Torque Tube and Stage II. Another BIG difference is the PRICE. Dont know if the price difference is worth it, I could not really tell any difference in air flow between the two. I am sure there is some, just not enough to document or feel SOTP to me. I had "Filter Envy" and had to upgrade.

Stage I and Torque Tube

Stage II

ocsurf16,

The differences have been explained, but the thing you ned to consider is which one you need. Base it off of the mods you have or plan to add and how much HP you will make. We tend to tell folks that if they are adding 0-70 HP the Stage I will do all they need, more than that and you need to go with the Stage II. Call us and we'll be glad to help you.
