Did you sell your stock exhaust?

I still have my stock muffler and cat. I've got to get rid of it now, it is taking up too much room. I was wondering if anyone has taken their stock stuff to a scrap/recycle yard and got money for it? I see all over the news that these are being cut off and stolen from cars and trucks because of how much money they bring. How much should I get for it?

I kept mine as well... Funny how much space that crap takes up. I heard they would give about $75 for the cat at a scrap yard, but to replace the Cat at the dealership, they want something retarded like $1000 for it.

Keep it and advertise it in California about this time next year. You'll probably get $500 for it. CA starts sniff-testing diesels in 2010.

I looked into getting a Magna Flow high flow 5" cat for my truck to stay legal and gain some performance. IIRC it was around $600-$700, but it's not California Air Resources Board certified. My only choice is to run a stock cat when I have to. But for now...

That 5 inch MBRP cat should only cost you $350 or so. I have it on right now, we'll see how it holds up....

Summit Racing has a 5" Magnaflow cat for diesels (#60012) - $257.95 but is not CARB-certified.

Stock exhausts wanted.

Paul Fox,owner of Defiant Truck Products mentioned to me recently that he has guys coming in all the time requesting stock exhausts because they hate their aftermarket ones. You might leave your name and # with him for referrals. 714-997-9111
