Diamond plate bed rail caps????

Anyone have the Dodge units and are they aluminum? I'm looking at a DP aluminum tool box but want BRC's before mounting the box. Inputs please.

Don't know about the ones that you are talking about, but don't be cheap, or you'll be mad later. The ones that I have on my wife's truck are almost white, I paid 100 for both of them. Nothing I have tried will bring them back.

Get your bed Line-x'ed over the rail. It will protect it from the tool box. If you do the aluminum, it will wear through your paint in no time.

Been thinking about that but I like the look of DP and it's easy enough to protect the paint from the box with vinyl gaskets. I know a guy that specializes in Rams and will check it out tomorrow. I wouldn't put aluminum BRC's against bare paint.

LineX shot over the rails will protect the paint but won't keep the metal from dinging. I've used LineX in my last two trucks too.
In the past I've used plain stainless bed rails and like those tremendously. If they get scratched, they are easy to buff out. What it does to the paint underneath, I can't say. When I put them on, I put them on to stay.
I used Bushwhacker plasti bed rails this time on my 06, almost went with the stainless again except I wanted black instead of more bling on this truck.

DeeZees on mine, about $100, but they are clear coated from the factory. The coating makes them slick to walk on and after a few years thely dull. I went with Owens for the 01, taller sharper diamonds, but the sent me the ones that dont wrap around on the end and I dont like that. the 06 has the full lenght that wrap the end curve by the tailgate, better protection and looks.

I have the MOPAR units and they look nice but after about a month the 3M tape they use to hold them to the top of the bed started coming loose. I'm very unhappy about that but the rails look great.

i've had the dee zee's on for about 3 years now and i have been very happy with them.no peeling etc.they did get "dull" but i think they would buff out if i wanted too but i don't.i like them the way they are.they were about 100 bucks for the pair.i also have a full tailgate cover/cap from dee zee and its a good product as well.

I also have the DeeZee's and love them. Tape didn't lift up and they look pretty good after 2 years considering I have scratched the heck out of them.

I have the Dee Zee's on mine also and holding up great. Between the toolbox, tape and screws haven't had any issues with lifting.
