Diablo Puck and Predator

been getting some conflicting data on diablo's forum so i thought i'd ask you guys on here. i have the predator/puck stack. when i bought it i was told the puck was timing and duration and the predator tunes were timing and duration unless you ran the extreme. if the extreme was loaded then you would see an increase in rail pressure. now i'm hearing that the puck is pressure and guys are seeing 27,000 psi with the puck on the 90 HP setting. can anyone confirm without a doubt what the difference is between the tunes and the puck. if the puck is pressure i'm leaving it off till i get a set of sticks, don't want to crack the factory ones and void the warranty thats left.

I cant speak for the downloader itself but I have ran the puck and it is a pressure box because thats where it plugs into in the rail pressure and map sensor. I only run the puck here and there not all the time. too much can ruin the injectors yes. If you dont feel safe running the puck then dont run it or run it just when you want to dyno or play around is mainly when I use mine.

i haven't run the puck for 8 or 9 months. i like the power from the regular tunes better. i'll hang on to it and use it later when i upgrade the injectors and fuel system.

Just like I said before over there... Funny how none of the Diablo guys would answer your question over there huh?!?!

I really liked my Predator but I just sold it today since I'm done modding.....

Have fun with it and start saving for the new trans too.....

won't need the trans, its a 6 SPD will have to look into a clutch later on though. yeah the diablo guys won't tell you anything. i've caught them in a few lies too and corrected them right on the forum. i'm sure that made them happy. i'm probably on their hit list...LOL

I had the Puck/Predator stack on mine and I have since taken it off because of what I have heard about them cracking/breaking injectors. Just an FYI for the 6speed guys also, in less than 6 months on the performance/economy setting (predator only) and very rare playing I completely smoked my clutch to the point that it has a hard time holding stock power now.

I've run the predator/puck combo on extreme rkl (non stack) with the puck set at the high mark for about 30k miles now. Not a single issue so far. At first I was careful with it, but I'd really like a new set of injectors.

Sorry Fyrguy, I didn't look at your sig. You are lucky then since a better clutch will cost less than half of a built auto. I wish I had my stock clutch back in the truck but it's really not worth the $$$ to switch back....

I have dynod the diablo, I run a dr p pressure box rather than the puck... without the pressure box, rail pressure didnt go up much past 20k,, with the dr p, pegs at 27 nice and smooth,,,, managed to break the 1k mark on the dyno too

i really not concerned about the clutch. i'm real careful so i don't smoke cuz i can't afford to put a dual disc in. as far as the puck goes, now that i know for sure its a pressure box i'll keep it off till i get a new set of sticks. i know the factory ones will crack but most aftermarkets won't so i'll just hang on to it. i'd really like to get a set of dynomite stage 1 sticks but 800.00 just isn't in the budget right now.
