This thread is mainly for STROKINNSMOKIN, I have a update for your Predator Programer, I was told to forward this to you by the manufacture. This update is only for 2004.5 thru 2005 model year.

I do not know how to attach a file here so if a mod or member can help I will post the update. If there is no way to upload the file please pm me with your email addy and I will get it to you.

trik396, I would say that the update was "hot of the testing press" but to be sure email Diablo, and ask them. If I have some time I will ask them and post the results here.

Well after doing the download it looks like it is software for ALL model years listed (2003-2005).
I will check with the programmer on Tues.

I noticed a great improvement in the idle quality and a much smoother rev throughout the rpm range. I am going to run the truck this weekend to see if there are any other noticeable improvements.

My predator didnt work untill I was sent an update. I used my laptop to update the predator while being plugged in to the truck to power the predator. The website says there are no updates. I am still on r17. I would like another update if there is one. email somekelley@yahoo.com

Thanks for posting this. I got my update from Diablosport as well. I tried and it still doesn't load up. Has anyone else had the same problem with v18?

Does it say your vehicle isnt in database? That is what mine said. I wrote down the id # that it gave me for my truck then called diablosport. I talked to a tech named Cole and he got it fixed up. I was very happy with thier customer/tech support.

 

Yes, that's what it is doing. I've talked to Cole, Brian and Calvin in tech support. Everyone has been very helpful...but the version 18 didn't help.

 

Well I have tried the new revision r-18 over the weekend and wanted to post my findings on the software upgrade from r-17.
1. The idle quality was much better. The truck is much smoother than the previous software (came loaded already) The truck idle is a little rough compared to stock but much improved. They may need to do just a little more tweaking, but it is acceptable now.
2. The low-end torque is much better and pulls from a dead stop now, actually left a huge posi mark without even trying was just trying to get the smoke.
3. The water temp seems to run about 10 degrees less than when the box was on it.
4. The best improvement was the mileage, my truck stock would get about 14.7 average, with the box same. With the Predator my mileage picked up to 23.25 average. This was also having some fun and smoking out some tailgaters. I want to say this truck is 2-wheel drive and was towing nothing. I also ran the truck at 70-80 mph and a bunch of stop and go traffic in Stuart Florida.


In conclusion I would like to say that the programmer if nothing else involved really raised my miles per gallon and will pay for itself in less than two weeks time frame, all the power and smoke is just a added benefit!

Just got my Predator. How do I know if it has this update? And it's running pretty good, so do I need it????

 

Look at the download screen it will tell you what version is in the predator, mine was r-17. This will apear in the window after you selecty one of the three tunes. I can tell you that I was real impress with the mileage increase.
