Well Im definatly getting springs. If I cant get them ordered in time so he can put them on with everything else early next week will my truck be ok. My trucks pretty crazy lots of power and I dont want it to break. Im going to be babying it because its a brand new motor but once in a while I will hit it hard. those marks on the piston are not the circle but the 5 indents on each piston?

The valve mark @ 3' o clock on the outer rim of the piston top is from valve contact (ie valve float). Valve contact with the pistons is bad bad.

Is that that sliver half circle thing. Sloverado those are some great #'s. Do you think I can make the 700 club on #2 only. What do you turn on #2.

When you float valves and contact pistons enough to make a marks usually the piston cracks around the wrist pin area. I've seen it a lot on blown and turboed gassers with forged pistons. Could stock cummins pistons be strong enough to take a valve beating? Just a thought.

Mine (pistons) seem to be doing ok for now. I am worried about the valve cracking and falling off into the cylinder or a valve seat falling.

Well when I called this one dealer in last week they shipped me out a cam and studs fast. So I figured tuesday after the holiday I would have them overnight me some springs. They have those in stock too.
