Yeah I see what you mean. But I think thats why Ross would not go any bigger. He kind of told me that he thinks thats right where your pushing the limits of streetability. But he knows I want a daily driver well see how it works out. He also told me they would flow more like 180HP. I saw a thread on here where a 2nd gen said his DDP 150HP nozzles gave him 175-180RWHP.

I know what you mean. Ross would not go any bigger than 140Hp and he said that would be pushing streetability. He also said they would flow more like 180HP. There is a thread on here where a 2nd gen gets 180RWHP off a set of DDP 150HP sticks.

If you are running a helix 2 you will be real close to coil bind with the stock springs. I think Justin had piston to valve interference with a smaller cam and stock springs. The springs are insurance against floating a valve. If you are going to do a cam do the springs. Tim

Thanks for the info tim. What is coil bind? How likely is it for me to run into these problems.

it is very likely for you since you are surpassing the stock boost psi.

i think coil bind is them(springs) pressing down farther than their suppose to.

In basic terms your valve spring will become solid (compressed fully) real close to the lift on the cam lobe. If you bar your engine the with the valve cover off watch the spring as the cam lobe comes up you will see the space between the coils is gone. When running a spring close to its max travel it will get hotter and weaken. As it gets weaker you run into valve float. Tim

So what is it exactly when you float the valves?

I got a tractor that grey smokes at idle ( pretty new tractor) and was told it may be floatin the valves but I have no idea.

If you are looking for F1 Springs they will not even be shipping till Tuesday. I have some on order for a customer of mine and we have been waiting for 2 weeks. I got my set sitting here but could not ship till tuesday anyway. They can be put in on the engine with a cummins tool but it is a fair amount of work. Tim

Wap you should not be floating valves at idle. Valve float is when the the valvetrain is not staying in contact with the valve. The valve will stay open even after the cam has come off the lobe. You are only talking for milla- seconds but it may allow the valve to contact the piston. Normally near redline is were it happens. Tim
