Cruise Control problem
Hello everyone first post here and my problem is with my cruise control. I have a 2006 Ram 3500 with the 5.9, 6 speed. My cruise would work on and off then stopped all together. No codes or anything. So changed my switches in my steering wheel and it worked on and off again but just recently stoped. I went to NAPA and they said it was probably the TSP and i have looked and there is no TSP im pretty sure. Any ideas? I have looked at all my lights and its not a lamp problem. Im also looking into the APPS right now. Any advice or direction would be appreciated.
It could be a Vacuum line. Diesel's have a Vacuum pump and more than likely you have a vacuum line that came loose or has a hole rubbed in it. Cruise control module is under the Drivers side battery. Easiest way is to drop inner fender and look up and see the Cruise Control Module with a Vacuum line on it. Can you tell if the CCM is running or not by turning the Ignition on but not starting the truck to see if it is working.
I'd bet on it being a burnt connector inside the ignition switch. I had to change mine to run a relay that was setup to run the blower motor. That took the load and heat out of the switch. The cruise in the next terminal over form the ac blower and gets burnt from it.
