Crazy Larry FYI

You’re not going to believe this:
I’m working on a 2005 Dodge 4X4.
I have built the trans., triple disc converter, etc.
Straight pipe exhaust, Customer request.
Phat Shaft 66 turbo
AFE stage 2 intake
FASS fuel system

The customer brings the truck to me with a BullyDog power pup downloader.
With the Crazy Larry program.
When I finished installing all the parts listed above I loaded the Crazy Larry program.
Time for a test drive.
The truck moves out the hole very strong, but throws a 0234 Over boost code on every run.
So I call Bullydog to see if they are working on a fix.
This is where things get strange.
The first tech I talked to said that I was running the truck to hard i.e.: the code. My response was “you have got to be kidding”. Then why do you sell a 200hp upgrade if I can’t use it??
I hang up and call back.
The 2nd tech says because I have a after market turbo its throwing the code. My response is “no kidding”. I ask, “ do you have boost fooling built in to the program”?
Their response was “no, nobody does”. I ask if they believe that TST or Edge or etc. is not Boost Fooling. He says “not that we know of”. At this point I’m beside myself.
Then comes the very unreal part: I mention that the truck is straight piped. He says there’s your problem. You HAVE to run a catalytic converter with any BullyDog programmer if you are going to run an aftermarket turbo?? I’m now completely baffled.

I was so confused by the lack of intelligence that it took me a few minutes to figure out that all they needed to say was that they weren’t able to Boost Fool in the program and that I needed a Boost Fooler to go in line with the map sensor. Why don’t they supply this with the Crazy Larry program? I think its because they don’t know, what do you think?
AND, they also told me that none of their products increase boost? What???
You mean to tell me that a 200hp program won’t increase boost? Then it hit me, the waste gate. Then I get to thinking, what are the egt’s like with the Crazy Larry program if boost isn’t increased?? They must be insane.

All in all I was completely dumbfounded by the Tech department at BullyDog.
I have never worked with their products before as I usually stick with TST or Edge but I will avoid them in the future considering what I learn from them today.

Now: Does anyone know of a boost fooler to go in line with the map sensor or do I have to build it myself. Which I’m prepared to do if necessary.

It sounds like a bug, I believe they have what you refer to as "boost fooling" built into the code. Correct me if I'm wrong but it doesn't care what the max boost is. It's possible there is a just a bug in the code in your version of the BDDL?

Nope, you're wrong. I clamped my wastegate shut, and would get overboost codes without the Crazy Larry. Trust me, you need another box or at least an in-line boost fooler. MDW called me to tell me to tell me this and I was laughing my **** off. Oh, btw Micheal, that Syclone I was working on, we fixed the wastegate, were out tuning it, and blew it up at 18psi (laughs). We got no det. at all. We didn't drop the motor today but it has all forged pistons/rods, headstuds and headgaskets, but smokes horribly when it's on. It FILLED the inside of the truck and we hopped out with fireextinguishers trying to kill the fire, but it was the engine. If you opened the valvecover breather, the thickest white smoke would pour out even with the engine off. haha, but MAN was it running strong. AT LEAST A 11.2 on the buttdyno.
