Conversion New front end to old body!

I am curious. I have seen where they have attached an Escalade fron end to a Yukon. It matches up perfectly. Has anyone heard about matching up the new body style Dodge Ram to the old body. It looks as though you would have to go back as far as the doors if it could be done.

Scott: confused:

That is because the Escalade and Yukon are basically the same body. GM has been doing that for years, had a buddy that had a 55 Pontiac and he bolted a 55 Chevy front end clip on it for laughs!!!

PDX,

I recently put mine alongside my friend's 2nd gen and compared. They are way different.
Of course with a big enough hammer

I believe the industry term is "badge engineering" same cars, different badges. I had a cousin that had a Pontiac that had a 1973 front half and a 1975 back half. There were few enough changes between those years that they matched up perfectly.

Better make that a LOT of beer. I had my 99 next to my buddies 04. The two body styles are very different not only up front, but all the way back to the rear bumpers.

I would have to say that it would be far easier just to get the 2nd gen body and transplant the common rail.....

Unless you have a lot of time and resources it would be cheaper to buy a new truck.

Why would you want to down grade to a 3rd gen look?

Who want's that 3rd Gen Body, I think they're hideous!!

I'd rather had a 93 body, a 97-98 Leather interior, and a custom built 12v something like Maddog's setup (BIG TWINS).

Chris

Oh Yeah, the 93 Dash sucks, so a full Aftermarket guage cluster is in order.
Sounds like a project
