Code 0700

I have this code reading on my 2003 Dodge, and was wondering what it is? I dont have any problems with the truck, but checked the codes just to see and was wondering what this code meant. This is the only code that flashed. Thanks for any help.

P0700 Transmission Control System Malfunction

I got this on mine about 24 hours after I had my Suncoast transmission installed, nothing was wrong, it went away later that same day. I actually got it again yesterday morning, by evening it was gone....asked my shop about it..they said it could be the computer sensing too much valve pressure.

So I need to take it in and have the transmission checked? How do you lower valve pressure? I know very little about transmissions, but is this something someone with mechanical apptittude can handle?? Does it need to be reduced? Thanks for the help.

I can't give an honest answer to that question since I don't know. I'm sure there are some gurus around here who can give you a good answer though. However, doesn't look like you've done heavy bombing (sig), you may want to take it into your dealer, have them scan it with their reader, their "tranny guy" should be able to give you an answer fairly easy (I would think).
My shop didn't seem to give it much mind...then again, in my case it did go away within a few hours, AND it is an aftermarket transmission. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

Do most dealerships give free diagnostics, or do most in yalls area charge for diagnostics? I think I will take it in next week. I ahve a TS Ramifier on the way, maybe I should get the tranny looked at before running that thing on higher levels. Thanks agian for your help.

They've never charged me to just scan it.

Not sure if its nationwide but I think Autozone will check it for free and even give you a readout slip of paper.
