Check Engine light/silencer ring

I pulled off the intake sensor, intake tube, wrestled with that snap ring until it came off the turbo and then a piece of thin sheet metal stamped into a cone shape fell out from the turbo. From seeing pictures of it online this is what I believe to be the silencer ring. when I reassembled everything, I drove it and the check engine light came on (steady, no flashing). I then remembered I didn't connect the intake sensor near the airfilter. I reconnected it and the check engine light is still on.
the engine runs/sounds the same as it did before...
any ideas?

This is what the turbo looked like after I removed the 2 pieces:

its on because if the air temp sensor you forgot to hook up, takes 50 starts or so for it to clear off there.

well, I just found out about reading codes and here's what came up:
P0073 Ambient Temperature Sensor High
P0107 Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor Low

...low and behold I found this thread.

the last post by "RamWheelsBy4" is somewhat similar to mine.

after so many start and re-starts it will go away, or you can get a scanner and delete it yourself or take it to dealer, nothing to be worried about...

in my opinion i think that so called silencer ring acts more than just for noise, when i removed mine i found the truck felt slower like the air going to the turbo was turbulant and not smooth any more, any way i like the way my truck feels with it in.

Removing the silencer ring has no affect on performance (either way). It is there because it was politically correct to put it there.

That is my opinion based on all of the scientific evidence that I have studied (which is none) and the "before and after" feel of my truck.

It is my understanding that Dodge is responsible for the addition of the "silencer ring" not Holset.

I am pretty sure if you disconnect your batteries for 5 minutes the light should go away

Before I removed my silencer ring, I found a few forums regarding turbulance and before/after performance on the removal. Here's one of them:
