Check engine light and P0118 code, help please!

I just finished installing a Quadzilla Commander. Took the truck for a test drive and noticed the check engine light would'nt go off. The next thing I noticed was the boost gauge was'nt registering boost pressure. When I got back home I checked to see if there were any codes and it was throwing P0118 code. Can someone tell me what the P0118 code is and why it is'nt registering boost?

+1...Coolant temp. sensor. things that can cause bad sensor readings can be a disconnected sensor, a low coolant level in the cooling system, a thermostat that is stuck open or shut, or a thermostat that has the wrong temperature rating for the engine.

Luvnacumns,
I did a search for P0118 and read a post you wrote in February, and I think I left the temp. sensor unplugged at some point with the key in the on position by accident. I'm still unsure of why the boost pressure is not registering though.

1.) Make sure you are on the correct wire. You could be on the Ground. Make sure you get it on Pin D. IF the latch is facing you and the wires are pointing toward you Pin D will be on the far right side.
2.) Make sure you selected the proper vehicle
3.) Make sure you are giving enough throttle to make some boost. If you are putzing around or at idle boost will be ZERO.

Yep I did the same thing started the truck and ran it But after a while it went out after I plugged it back in... Also Quad is correct you won't see any boost while ideling or slowly moving.. Just check his suggestions and well go from there..

Still no boost reading! I double checked the settings and wiretap, then took the truck for another test dive. This time I spooled the turbo, and hit around 75 - 80 mph, still nothing.

Did you check to make sure that the spade terminal went into the tap instead of getting pushed to one side and not making contact. I have seen that happen a few times.

QPTRR,
That was it! I pulled the terminal off of the tap two or three times & didn't even notice that the spade was slightly bent. Thanks to everyone for all the input.

Glad you got it fixed!

Ok, one thing I want to say is that the one reason we always ask so many questions and go over so many stupid things is because of the testing process we go through before our products are shipped out.

We had a distributor in our office last week and he got to see the testing process first hand and his jaw dropped! We literally hook everything up like it was on a truck, run it through a complete simulations including button pushes, changing temperatures, defueling, warnings, power levels ect.

There is no good reason one goes out of our facility and does not work. Our test process, especially on the Commander is crazy. So once they pass all this it is hard to believe something does not work and that is why we ask all these annoying questions instead of just shipping another one out. It is not because we don't want to, it is because we should not have to!

Anyhow, glad you got it going your way!
