CB Install
I have my CB mounted down low next to the 4X4 shifter, i was wondering if anyone has mounted one up high on the ceiling or another location. i have an overhead console and would like to keep it, but im not crazy about where my cb is mounted currently. i will upload a pic of where it is at here shortly......Thanks, Matt

I used a custom bracket to mount in front of center console. I am satisified with the location.
Here is link to thread and pics on TDR.

Man that is a good size CB! I see why you want to move it now, that would drive me nuts resting my leg up against it all day. I have a crappy slim CB that I slid between the drivers seat and the senter seat. Sticks up about an inch, mic hard to get to at times, and also a little hard to hear since the seat muffles the speaker. Sound a little tacky? Yes it does, but it's the only thing I could think of at the time.
Another idea is get those overhead cubby holes that mount across the cab. I think you remove the visors, mount this thing, then mount the visors back to it. JC Whitney has a couple models, some that have built in power outlets. As far as them blocking the view of the overhead dohicky i'm not sure.
Found a link and it doesn't look like it would block it, check it out CLICK ME

Hey what make of trailer is that??? Eby? Do you like it???
I have the same C.B issue with my truck too. I have a Cobra 29.
I generally just leave it out of the truck unless I'm doing a long highway run, then I just rig it up temporary and let the thing sit on the centre console.
haven't come up with a good solution yet.

WV Cowhauler. You are the first person who hasn't busted my ***** about my CB location. Everyone else thinks I'm crazy for drilling holes in the top of the dash on a $40k truck. Anyway, I don't have pics because I don't know how to take them or post them. Just lined up the CB with the radio, angled the CB towards me so I can see it, marked the 2 holes and drilled. I used a thick plastic washer to level the bracket because of the dash contour. Mounted a small eyebolt on the overhead console and hung the mic there from retractable zip cord. Not the prettiest setup but you can't miss it. Just like in the big trucks and 100% practical and functional. If I can get some pics I'll send them to ya.

The trailer is a 24x8 eby. As far as drilling hole in the dash, i was thinking about using 2 sided tape to hole it to the dash....dont know if this will work or not, but i think i might try it. any other suggestions???
