I researched it first, so I gotta ask because I found no answer, what is the cat test pipe?

 

Either I made some one upset, or posted this question wrong, but surely some one here knows what this is. All I am trying to do is figure this stuff out so I can modify my exhuast in a emission testing county.. Sorry again for bumping yet another one of my own threads. Guess my impatience is just on high tonight.

 

A cat test pipe is a section of exhaust pipe that is inserted in place of the converter in a "test" situation when the cat is suspected of being pluged or malfunctioning in some way.

 

It's a straight peice that goes where the cat used to be. You are using it to "test" the exhaust. Wink wink, nudge nudge.

thanks, again I do appreciate it. looks like bands are the route, that way I can attempt to gut the cat, and easily be able to place it back up, and take out the cat when wanted. thanks again.
