Can't find a place to mount CB

Hey guys,

I'm wanting to put my CB in this truck. I just don't have a clue as where to put it. My last truck was an auto so I just screwed the mount into the dash above the tranny hump. It was a Ford as well though. Any suggestions would be helpful along with pics too. It's a Cobra 29 if that matters and I will be using a Wilson 1000 mag.

Go to genos garage and look at some of their CB mounts. They may have one that will fit your needs.

i would love to have it mounted infront of the midle seat like the genos mount, but theres just no room for a ful size cb. you auto trans guys have it easy in more than just one way...

i have tought about building a custom lower half of the seat, and shotening it to flush with the fold down seat back. this would give me the 6" or so that i would need for a vertical mount with it tiped so i could see it.

looking at that side shot, i dont know if there would be enough clearance for even a cobra 25/29 and the cup holders, let alone something like my galexy with the extra heatsink etc...

It would be close, not sure my old cobra would have had room for the cup holder to open. There is actually more room than the picture looks like and the old Radio Shack CB is about 1 1/2" high. You have about 3" of clearance between the mount and where the cup holder opens if it is a long/deep CB.
