Cab Fresh Filter Kit?

Hey guys. I know for a while Genos has been selling the cab-fresh filter kit for 2nd gens, that filters the interior incoming air. Well I see that they have recently introduced a kit for 3rd gens. I'm curious if anyone has tried it, and how they like it? I have heard that it sticks up and is pretty unsightly, and would love to see pics or hear from anyone that's tried it. ??

I had a hepa filter in line with the interior air on my 2002 Jetta TDI, as well as my '99 benz. It's really disappointing to see my $45k truck in 2004 not have anything. I suffer from seasonal allergies, and I'll tell you that I never have an issue driving by freshly cut grass or fields when I'm in the benz. Not a single haaaachoo! It stops the pollen and dust. You should see how dirty that thing is when I change it every 20k, and its disturbing to realize that all that dirt and dust would have otherwise been distributed throughout the interior..

My friend has one on his 2001 and he likes it a lot as he also has allergies. He did replace the screws they send with stainless ones as they started to rust immediately. I don't have any allergies so I don't need one, yet...

It keeps the interior a lot cleaner too. I just wonder if the third gen kit is ugly. There's not room there like the 2nd gens.

Hey Lightman, why don't you get one and do a writeup on it for us? I can think of worse ways to blow a few bucks ....

Bula, I was waiting for you to do that

Actually, I was hoping Geno's might post a picture of the setup. The 2nd gen setup fits almost recessed under where the hood meets the windshield... the 3rd gen doesn't seem to have the space there, so it would seem the cab fresh kit would sit on top, exposed. They aren't that expensive, I just figured someone on the forum had tried one by now.

Update - I emailed Robin at Geno's, and they are going to attempt to take a digital picture of the kit. I'll post when I get more info if anyone's interested. For $59, if it works well and isn't too ugly, seems like a great upgrade.

After having a few cab fresh kits over the years I like them. They are cheaply made and typically last a year or two, they don't do well in the snowy/icy winters parked outside...but for the price, I like them. The cabin stays cleaner/less dusty for sure.

Ok I ordered a set of cab fresh filters for my truck, they are cheesy and cheaply made. But as long as they keep the back road dust out of my ventilation system they will be worth the price.

I agree on the construction. I got a set, and never installed them yet because the way they were made.
