Angry Bye bye trans

Just lost the transmission for the 3rd time. This is rediculous. I dont have that much power to be going through a trans every six months. The stocker lasted longer than the built ones have...

It just popped. So Im pretty sure it was a shaft. Im guessing input most likely? So I guess the pumps gone also. What else? I did pull over and try to grab a gear, so it probably tore up some stuff. I may have to go look at a new Challenger

Thumbs up Suncoast trans

Should of went with Suncoat full billet comp race triple disc TQ and billet flex plate, you will not have any problems, about 7500.00 installed!

I'd get a hold of Dusty and find out why your truck likes to eat his transmissions!

Strokethis, hopefully you get it figured out and Dusty takes care of you. HTS is a good trans.

Spent the day installing my new Performaxes. Was on my way to pick my daughter up from daycare, and decided Id see if it would set an overboost code again after I just cleared 8 CELs (by the way, make sure your rail pressure sensor isnt plugged in backwards). So I was going out of town about 45-50mph and gave it some fuel. Turbo spooled fairly well, didnt hit hard, went right up to 38psi and held steady. By now Im doing about 65-70 and POP! Pulled off the road and tried all gears, nothing, but could hear a very faint but noticeable kind of grinding sound. Not so much grinding in the traditional sense, but something. I dont really know how to explain it.

My stocker blew up the convertor, as did the first built one. This ones still the firstone, just a different convertor. So I know what a blown convertor is like, and Im pretty sure I know what a snapped shaft is like now.

Dustys a good guy. Ill call him. But I am seriously thinking about selling the new turbo (less than 100 miles on it) and swapping in a manual

hts uses suncoast converters
ive had good luck with my hts its held 650hp for about 2 years now. is dusty the one your are dealing with and having him fix it? or going thru a dealer? everything can break but lots of powerful trucks have run what he has build and they have held for a while.

I asked on the other thread at CF but what flex-plate are you running?

Sorry to hear about your truck by the way. I know Dusty will take care of it. They are good people, in the truest sense the word.

I went through a dealer when I originally bought the trans last February, but Dusty himself built it and shipped it out. My Suncoast convertor went out in Aug/Sep. Apparently was a bad batch of convertors or something. Went directly through Dusty at that time. Now it looks like a shaft, of which I really dont think I should be breaking any billet shafts when Im going 70...really shouldnt be breaking one unless Im doing boosted launches or just abusing the trans. Im not scared to get on it, but its far from mistreated.

Im running a Suncoast laminated, I believe.
