Bullydog

I put in a Bullydog tripledog in my 07 mega on friday and it works great until I punch it and it takes off like a bat out of hell, great! but when it gets to around 90-100 mph it feels like it downshifts horribly and the truck kinda hops and begins to slow down at this point I no longer have my foot on the gas and the check engine light comes on but after like 8 hours it goes away and there is no damage done to the engine but im wondering if anyone eles has a problem like this and if so how do I fix this.

thank you

Sounds like you either hit the speed limiter or you drained the rail. Do you have any gauges installed? what other mods have you done? Fill out your sig so that everyone knows what you have and then they can make better suggestions.

Yup, I bet your running out of fuel, you should get a fuel pressure gauge.
I can draw mine down to zero when I punch it set on extreme, I never take it up to 100 mph though.

I cant say that I've gone hard throttle from 0 to 100 + but I do regularly hit the peddle hard and go 60 to 100 + (quick I might add) without similiar symptoms.

The only difference (if you have the 5.9) is I have the QZilla XZT on it as well. No fuel gauges yet so I'm not sure of the pressure.

BTW, what about the new Qzilla rail pressure guage? Looking into it for this very reason.

Anyone have any exp with this? How does it interface, under the hood or at the OBD II port?

but draining the rails won't throw a check engine light next time it comes on check for codes with downloader and the code still might be in the ecm so plug it up and see what it is

Check your defuel points set on your outlook monitor that may be the problem ive seen a few problems from those. Try unhooking the outlook from the obd port and just running the programer.

Does the outlook monitor defuel when you reach a certain exhaust temp?

If it threw a code, you should be able to hook up the triple dog and read the code right?

I've hit 100mph with mine..........no problems here. But I wont do it again

According to dyno mite diesels dyno tests they stubbled upon this by accident i believe truck dynoed 30hp less with the outlook installed then with it installed even with the defueling parameters set all the way up tranny/egt/coolant/etc. And yes as far as i know the come set very low all the ones ive installed came pre-set to a modest 1250 degrees egt, 200 trans temp and 200 coolant. But i wont be going back with a outlook for the simple power loss factor.

I have the bdtd on my truck with the crazy larry installed, no outlook moniter just guages but I have never experianced anything like that and I have raced many times on the freeway from 70 to 100+. I would invest in a fuel pressure gauge if problem continues.
