Bully Dog Problem

I have the BDTD set on perfomance and at WOT the truck cuts out and jerks really bad. I decided to try again and the same thing happened. What do you guys think is happening. I put truck back to stock and everything is good. I checked for codes and got incorrect immobilzer key.

Do you have any popping sounds? you are probably running out of fuel pressure thus draining the rail.

No popping sounds but i did not think the BDTD set on performance could drain the rail.

If you are running the stock fuel system, than you are not getting enough fuel. I would highly recommend an aftermarket fuel system for your truck. My PowerPup on performance (90hp) fried my stock fuel pump in a little over a year. Not fun getting stranded on the side of the road coming home from vacation.

Thumbs up

Good info there. I run a pmt on tow but do like to play a little. Increase in fuel demand could drain rail. "01 5.9 tcd I've got had issues with fuel from factory. 7 lift pumps and 5 hp pumps later removed all banjo fittings(restrictive) and installed Edge comp. and fass. No more problems. Don't like banjo fittings, if you just look at them you will see that they don't flow fuel well. Got to install my fass on '07 5.9 tcd soon before problems start. That's when banjo bolts go bye bye.

Possibly bad injectors that dont show signs of damage until the added rail pressure at higher rpm's comes in to the equation. Are you making any oil at all can you smell any diesel in it, hows the viscosity. Does it have hard starts in the cold mornings some times?

Get yourself a FP gauge.
I've never had a problem on "performance" but can draw my FP down to 0 psi on Extreme, no jerking though...
