Question Bully Dog any good?

I'm in the market for a programmer for my 2003. A friend of mine can get me either Banks, Bully Dog, Edge, or Predator. He told me to stay away from Bully Dog and Banks. He didnt' have anything bad to say about Edge. He suggested that I go witht the Predator. He said they were the best by far. I really like what I read about the Bully Dog and all of the extra things. I haven't read much about Predator. Any ideas? Anyone out there have any real issues with Bully Dog or Edge? I have a Super B turbo now. But the rest of the truck is stock.
-Thanks

If your looking for a downloader I would consider the bully dog if you get a really good price on one. I would also look at the Smarty.

bully dog is the way togo!!! the crazy larry is an excelleny program, your friend doesnt know what he's talking about. if you got an automatic your prolly gonna blow it up if you start adding power to that. check out HTS, www.htstransmissions.com, get your bully dog and tranny at the sametime!!

Thanks for all of the replys... I'm looking for a lot of safe power. My truck is a 6-speed, and I tow about 4k once or twice a year. This is a daily driver, and it needs to be realiable. I put about 35k miles a year on the truck. I have a pyro guage now (Pre-turbo) and a Super B turbo. My highes EGT's are 1200 towing. I heard that common-rails are good for up to 1500 plus??? I want a safe, realiable, dumby-proof, high horse-power (with an economy option) programmer. I guess that's what we all want. Sounds like Bully Dog might be the one so far...

If you put one of them chips or programmers on your truck. You will have to change your user name.

Bully Dog

You are getting into a lifelong subject here! I personally have the Bullydog Tripledog with the outlook monitor along with the analog guages. I have the outlook pyro tapped pre-turbo and the analong pyro is tapped post turbo. I can reach 1500 degrees with crazzy larry without even thinking about it. If you do go Bullydog just make sure you have the guages to monitor your lifeline. I have no complaints so far. I have had to send the tripledog into get re-set and I am thinking I will have to again because it won't work again but their customer support has been really awesome. I like the fact that you can have it in tow/performance/extreme or crazy larry if you download it and the safety features are good. I have my outlook programmes to shut down at 1350 degrees. I leave crazy larry on all the time towing or not. I tow a 29' enclosed trailer loaded to the gills with tools along with the truck having a 6" lift and 37" Toyo's and I drive it all day long and I haven't had any troubles yet!! KNOCK ON WOOD!!!! But I do not ram-rod it either. I am always monitoring my guages and keep the motor well with-in it's paramaters. If your watting major power research will tell you TST is the way to go but safe managable power any box like edge, quad and bullydog should get you to where you want to go. I would also look into the new smarty but from what I hear you will be roasting parts fast!! I guess the power is insane. I wonder how it compares to the Bullydog Crazy larry.

Just my .02

Well, so far I'm leaning towards Bully Dog. All I hear is good stuff about their products/customer service. But has anyone heard about Predator? Again, I have heard very little about this, but one of my friends out here swears by them. Either way, I really like the Bully Dog and will probably get that set up.

I have a bully dog,, also a edge juice with attitude. I have been playing with them a bit now, since I got the new turbo, fass system, and new tranny. The edge definately puts out more power, amazing difference,, going to see how it tows tomorrow, I have towed with the bully dog and stock tranny etc. It was good,, egts stayed in good shape,, but I think that the edge is going to work better. I am also playing with stacking on them too,, it helps,, but not overly excited about it,, cant wait to try the ppe unit with the edge,, from everybody I talk to here in alberta it works like a hot dam
