Bulldog Remote Start Doesn't Work!

Ok, Dad bought himself a Bulldog Deluxe 500 remote start, model 550R-LCD. He's been waiting for me to get home for a week so that he could get it installed. I hooked everything up yesterday minus the locks and parking lights and it seems as if the control unit isn't even there. There is no communication between the module and the truck or remote. Does anybody have any experience with this model? His truck is the 04.5 in my sig below. Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

i know that if he has the grey key, which i believe all 3rd gens upto '06 have, then a bypass is needed in order for the unit too work properly, i think they sell the modules at any reputable (sp?) auto installation center.

Thanks ramtd, but he's got the black key. The salesman sold him the bypass module just incase, but the thing that puzzles me is the main module doesn't even click or make noise or anything. Right now I'm leaning towards a faulty module, but I'll have to wait until tomorrow to call tech support. Thanks for the suggestion though!
