Built Tranny ?'s

Looking for advice and input on selecting a built tranny. I am looking to put max of 600 hp to the ground but tired of worrying about turning my smarty up in order to save my trans. Any suggestions? should i go with a complete new built tranny like an ATS or build up my stock, should i hash my stock out before getting another? thanks

I've really liked Goerend's products. He is a great guy to deal with, and the trans parts are extremely high quality. He stands behind his products too!

DO NOT trash the stock tranny first. The great thing about Dave Goerend VS some(most) of the other shops is that he will pull yours apart, analyze it, and use it as the starting point for building whatever you need for your specific truck and application. Thus, saving you money and providing a "needs specific" set up over buying a one size fits all from someone else who has a set price and you pay it or not. He also has the only lifetime unconditional warranty on the TC.

i know when it comes time to do mine ill be going with goerend. i hear great things about his products and customer service. i dont dog my truck much and will eventually step up to a smarty, like you. depends on what you plan on doing with the truck or what you do with it- race, sled pull, etc?

I have a Goerends and am completely happy with the tranny and the buying experience. His reputation is earned and well deserved. This is not a knock on any of the others... Just relating my own experience.

MOST tc's never get damaged...unless a shaft or a flexplate breaks and beats them up form the outside...so I would not bee too worried about a tc warrenty. I want an unconditional warrenty on the entire transmission assembly!

I might have found one... ;-)

Right. And if you twist off the input shaft in Dave's TC he replaces it for free.

Someone is offering an entire tranny warranty? Then by all means, that's the place to get your tranny. Of course if they do that, they may be bankrupt before long.

hey thanks for all the great input where is this Goerends at and also HTS? Because living in south dakota could put a damper on things. Can anyone give an estimate on what theirs cost for handling six hundred horse for drag racing but i still want to be able to drive it daily.
