I was installing the riser under my valve cover yesterday and when I set it on the motor it got a little hung up and I had to persuade it to get past the last injector.

Well when I looked I had cracked the thin plasic piece on top of my #6 injector that runs between the 2 posts that the injector harnes bolts too.

I dont see any way this could effect anything but it did chip the corner off of the top of that piece and I want to know
1 Should I be concerned?
2 Does that thin strip actually do anything?
3 What course of action next?

As long as the terminals are tight there's not much chance the wires will short together. It's just a separator.

 

Thanks Billy, I got pretty much the same responce from a couple guys on comp d, and one of them was Don so that made me feel a lot better. I assumed it was just an isolater but wanted to make sure before I fired it up in a few days. The piece I brokd off was only about half the size of an pencil eraser and there is no way for the wires to touch.

 

I broke one too (the whole serparator though), Havent had a problem yet!

 

Well I am glad somebody stepped up and said they have done it too . I knew I couldnt be the first one to make this mistake but I have never heard of this happening before.
