Broke a A5k...do I get a prize?

Spun the bearing...oil leaking out of the hot side, won't make any boost over 5-7 psi and whining like crazy.

BUT...IT DID NOT leave me stranded. I had a HEAVY 30' GN...900 miles to go, huge headwind, hunting puppy lab with a freshly broken leg, two kids greiving their grandmother's unexpected death, and a really sore body from a nasty swap/high side on my CRF450R (broken pipe, subframe, handle bars, controls, hang gaurds, foot peg, etc etc wasted) that ruined my racing schedule for the next month (bruised kidneys...blood in my urine and lungs).

Man oh man...when it rains it pours. I could write one heck of a country song right now!

But on the positive side...do I get an award for breaking on of the first and highest milege A5k's?

I will give a full write up when I figure out exactley what happened to the turbo...and if anyone what s to know...elaborate more on the other "personal" challanges of recent.

New week...new week...new week!

Twins almost on the bench, Flux 3.3's and springs in the mail though!

97k

It was most likely the heat/low boost abuse it suffered when I was heavy hauling...not the racing or dyno romps.

Many 750-1000 mile days where EGTS sat at 1300-1400 for the entire duration.

Yes...he either gets a fixed/refreshened one, a new one, or his money back with a sorry note! I will take care of him.

Heck with my luck we would have gotten it on and blown when I was half way home.. Glad to know ATS is fixing it though.. Sounds like a good company to deal with.

You ran 1300-1400* for extended times??? No sir. Not for me Thats why I dont care much for a big single. High cruising EGT's, and dont cool great when towing. Glad you made it home though

The CR's can handle the heat a lot better than our old 12v's Eric...not too mention your 12v wouldn't spool that thing well enough to tow ANYTHING below 3K RPM At least not without surging anyway!

97K miles is good for ANY aftermarket charger...let alone one that took the abuse that one didi!
