Little help please. What do you guys suggest is the safest max boost to run with a stock turbo?

 

what year truck ? I've hit 40+ a few times but i dont think you would want to go above 45 psi with HW351.


Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

 

My truck is a 2004.5. I have hit 45 psi but i dont want to push it might more.I have heard you can push 50psi with a stock turbo but would feel better if i got more of the same feed back. I have replaced the electronic waste gate with an external adjustable waste gate.

 

The Head Gasket & OEM Studs will hold 50psi, But the Turbo won't like it for long..
Best to keep it under 45psi, Unless you want an excuse to buy an upgrade Turbo...

 

I agree, I hit 50 a few times, then the last time ended up with a broken shaft. Under 45 is where I'd stay, my problem was it was hot, put a larger turbo and bye bye egts!!

 

How hot was your truck getting before you changed your turbo? What was your temp after yout new turbo?
