Your trucks ECm only allows you to build a certain amount of boost pressure before it defuels. The fooler plugs into the map sensor and "fools" the ECM so you can build more boost. My top boost pressure was somwhere around 37psi with the boost fooler it will make 45psi and seems to cool a little better when running high egt's. You smart guys please correct me if this is incorrect. I bought mine from the DTR store I think it was around $80 bucks.

I don't know but your Edge might do BF already. Check that first. Craig

you can also look on ebay. Since you have an 03, you need to modify the boost elbow so that you can get more boost from it since the wastegate on the 03-04 are mechanically controlled. Again look on ebay for a boost elbow and either buy one or make your own, and if you make your own, search these forums because someone listed all the tools and supplies they needed to make their own.

I ran it with my bully dog and had no problems, and the truck made good power. I took both off in favor of the smarty and I have been having fun ever since.

I was going to ask about that. I used the boost elbow in my 03, and it made a world of difference in EGT's, smoke, and boost numbers. I was wondering if I should put one of those on my 06, but based on what you were saying, 04.5 and up have a different system.

The 03/04 have a mechanical wastegate and therefore the need for the elbow. 04.5 and up have an electrically controlled wastegate and therefore a different system.

you would have to run a BF with the power puck on a 03, right?

I am not familiar with the puck so I can't answer that directly. What I can say is that any downloader/module that you use that does not include boost fooling would be of benefit to get the separate boostfooler and boost elbow mod.

You can run the boost elbow with nothing else on an 03/04 but you'll throw a code. If you don't want to have a code popping up all the time you'll need to get the electronic doodad.

At what point (PSI) does a code get thrown? Can't the boost elbow be adjusted to just under the code alarm? (as long as you still have any additional boost). On my 03 I run maxed at 28lbs, I was thinking if I could get to the range of 34lbs without a boost fooler, just the boost elbow.

Does it make it smoke more or less? Just wondering for my stock '03.
