06 auto,when i turn key to on position the check engine light stays on once all other lights go off then blinks 10 times,why?

 

My check engine light came on when I was hot roddin too hard on level 5. We called the dealer, and they said if the light stays on continuously, it can be driven, but if it's flashing, you should get it checked out. Does yours flash all the time? Also, you can check for codes by turning the key to run/off/run three times, the odometer will show if there is a code.

Boy was I skerred when that light came on, but it went away after a few starts, hope you get it solved.

 

when i first bought truck 3 weeks ago light came on and stayed on i took it back and they said it was nothing,reset computer every things been fine i just cant figure out why its blinking,also should the light turn off in the on position before u start it does yours?

 

My light stays on in the run position along with the ABS and a few other lights. On start up, it would turn off. I never saw the blinking but from what I understood it would be blinking all the time if something was wrong. It took like 4 starts for the continuous light to go away though.
