The Bilsteins are valved specific, and have much better rebound, according to the rep i talked to.Where the Rancho is used as a multi-model unit that fits numerous applications.I had bilsteins on my Super duty, and have them on my new Dodge, and am a happy camper.

I got the shocks I mentioned for the rear on my 2wd dually. They fit just fine compared them to the original shocks same length extended and compressed. I think the original shock were supposed to be gas shocks. They were so wore out it was hard to tell.
No that I have decent shocks on the rear the front feels terrible. I hope they come up with a part number for the fronts soon.

Ramdan,

I found the same link and reponse email from Jack-it stated the kit will fit my 04...Yet, Bilstein states they haven't made a shock for the 04 yet...

" TIm,

Unfortunately, Bilstein does not make a full levelling kit, and they have not yet released their 2004 applications, however, though I would reccommending verifying with Dodge first, I believe that the 2004 Ram 2500 4WD uses the same shocks as the 2003 models. Bilstein does make two different shock options for the Dodge Ram 2500 4WD, depending on how much the truck has been lifted. Thanks,

I'm half tempted to order it from Jackit and try. Worst case scenerio, I just send it back to them. Maybe we should contact Jackit and see if anybody successfully installed Bilsteins on an '03 or '04

Just because a shock will "bolt on" doesn't mean that it is the same and will work. Baybe Bilstein feel that their are enough changes from the 02's to the 03's that they need different valving in the the shocks. Out side apearances are the same but maybe not what is on the inside, which is what is important.

Right, good point, and also i'd like to do everything at once. I want to put in the leveling kit and change all of the shocks as one project. Not that shocks are hard to change or anything.

After having both on my truck I agree the shocks are not the same, that's what I was hoping for.
