Bilstein Shocks

Just ordered a set of Bilstein schocks for my truck. Any input from anyone who is using them on their truck?

I have put around 30000 on mine, and my input is they are great. truck empty they ride about the same as factory, but the more you load that truck up the smoother they get. i just moved hay with a trailer that was averaging around 6500 pound tounge weight and for the first time they actually had about 3 inches of travel in them. If you use your truck like a truck, you'l love em. For people who use their truck as a glorified car ther are a lot smoother shocks out there. So far my only complaint is that when you bounce around in the mud the front boots want to fall down, i guess I just need to put some wire ties on them.

I love mine. It felt like a different truck when they first went on. It now takes washboard surfaces without the "sideways" hopping it used to do. Very firm handling. Just make sure the the hardware kit for the front pair contain a steel sleeve to be placed inside the hole in the rubber bushing. If the bushings are installed without that sleeve, the threads on the rod will eat thru the rubber in no time, and then it'll start to rattle. Also, if you cut the shipping strap before the rear shocks are aligned in their mounting position, the shock will expand and is impossible to compress (at least for a little guy like me). You'll need to jack up the rear and uncompress the suspension to fit them in.

Just read the previous poster. The boots on my fronts are molded around the top rod so they will not fall down. Also, I guess I don't use my truck "like a truck" 'cause I don't haul anything with it. But I do haul butt!....about 30,000 a year, and like I said, unloaded, it's a very firm ride, but far from teeth chattering.

man, for the money i wouldn't think a person should have to be messing with clamps and hardware kits. Seems like they should be ready to go !!

Now, did you see what I mean about the steel sleeve in the rubber bushing?
