Bilstein HD or 5100 series

I'm getting my dad a set of shocks for his b-day. he has a 07 2500 hemi. i got the 5100 on mine (07 2500 diesel with a leveling kit). Will the 5100 series fit fine on a stock truck. i think i'd be safer getting the HD but i just dont know how they ride compared to the 5100 which ride great for me.

For a stuck truck I'm actually not positive if the 5100's will work for the front. But if it were me and, on a stock truck I'd say go with the HD's.

You can gt 5100's that are the correct length, but they are really ment for lifted trucks. Got to 8lugtruckgear.com and you can get the part numbers you need. Then checkout shockwarehouse.com to get the best prices. You can do a little google search and find a coupon as well to save a little extra.

Since he has the stock susp. im gunna play it safe and get the HD. But man is his rough or what, you hit a bump in that truck and your eyes rattle. i never rode in a stock one just mine had the 5100 when i bought it.

The HD's ride like the factory shocks - ROUGH - valving sucks. I installed the 5100's all around about a month after buying my truck - GREAT RIDE ater that. You can get the 5100's in different lengths, they make them for stock trucks. bansh-eman gives good advice for part numbers and better pricing. Check with the vendors and get some price quotes, our vendors do good by us.

thats what i was afraid of. I've seen parts numbers for the 5100 and there for 0 to 1.5" of lift and since he's at 0 i'm thinking that will work.

I don't get many options having a 2 wheel drive looks like the Bilstein HD's my only choice.

My trucks stock height and I have the 5100's. They fit perfect and the ride and control is great. The truck is still stiff, shocks wont do anything for that, just keeps it under control. I have had the HDs on every other truck I have had and they work fine, I cannot say they are any different as I have never had both sets on the same truck. Once you put them on you should not ever need to replace them, unless you lift too high.

his truck with the factory shocks feels like the only thing taking the impact is the tires. mine with the 5100 is still stiff but takes the impacts a hell of alot better then the factory shocks.
