Bilstein 5100s vs 7100s
Bilstein 5100s vs 7100s
Just curious to see if anyone has done a side by side comparison to see if the 7100s are really worth the extra cash. I'm talking about street, towing and mild trail use not this kind of use.
I don't see why the T-REX coils, leafs and a set of 5100s made for a level kit wouldn't work pretty well for a lot less coin...

Okay, I talked to a buddy of mine who works for Custom Trucks Unlimited in Livermore, CA. He gave me the following breakdown.
5100= Basic... Mild mannered, work well with larger tires.
5150= Middle... Excellent Offroad and KILLER on road (Best on road IMO) Soaks up the bumps and off road tame enough not to kick your *** (remote res keeps foaming and heat to a minimum for long life)
7100= Top of the line...Killer Off Road shock on road just too stiff for my liking even in a big truck. of course these are the best longest life out of the bunch, and the most expensive.
So, now I have a new question. Has anyone adaped 5150s to fit their Ram? If so, what do you think?

Did your friend suggest which length to use? They would probably work on the back, but the not on the front. I haven't seen them in person, but I would think the reservoir might hit the coil. You might be able to do 5100's in front and 5150's in back?
