whatdieseltoget, I got the idea from looking at posts on this website and DieselRam.com. As far as the actual parts, I ordered the filter over the net from www.fleetfilter.com #42790 for around $30.00. Then went to the local 84 lumber store and purchased the rubber adapter, pvc pipe and the clamps for an additional $20.00. Did the install myself which took about 45 minutes.
I read several post that stated the BHAF does flow more air than a modded stock air box. I can't confirm the actual numbers but I can tell a difference once the BHAF was installed.
whtractor, I love the BHAF. Just something about raising the hood of a Dodge diesel and seeing that big ol filter sitting there. Looks good IMO . As far as any changes, I have only had it installed for about 3 days now, but yes I can tell a difference in performance/throttle responce. Seems to be a little more snappy in the throttle. Sound wise, I don't think it made all that much of a huge difference in the turbo noise. I can hear the turbo spool up, but it's not annoying by any means
