I really like my phat shaft 62 super from Industrial Injection. It has a larger turbine and larger housing. 14 cm housing versus stock 9cm housing. I do not tow but this sps 62/14 with the ats exhaust manifold spools as quck as stock with more boost - 50 to 55 psi with fueling box added. Egt's are cooler than stock with engine under a load. If I were you I would give Shane or Brett a call at Industrial Injection and tell them what you are looking for. They can take good care of you and answer ALL of your questions. I can honestly say they are ahead of thier game on turbo upgrades for the cummins.
Hope this helps

My Father has a 04 not 05 but tows his 5th wheel (13500lbs) with a htb2 62/12. Mods to his truck are Flux Injectors, tst pmcr, and ez. He also has a Scotty3, 4"mbrp Exhaust and full DTT tranny. No problems with egts with the tst on 2/3 and ez on 2. Tim
Thanx guys I sent an email off to HTT and II for info and prices. By the sounds of it I should be able to get away with a single. tha sounds good to me as I like to keep things simple. Why go to twins If I dont needs them. Harder install and more money. I will get a manifold and singleas soon as I figure out which model to get.
Syndicate, I tow 25 to 30k over about a 3000 mile out and back sometimes 4 times a month. I'd think about the tranny long before the turbo if I were you. My tranny puts more power to the ground and dropped my egt's more than a turbo would. Without a tranny build all that power is just an expensive tranny heater. Oh yeah I tow with the TST on 4 to 6 power and 4 to 5 torque. STOCK Turbo 210,000 km and rolling. I tow at 65 to 70 mph loaded and a little more in the middle of the night empty
. Yep, a turbo system is in my future...just doin things in the proper order. ks

Thats interesting to know your trans dropped your EGTs. I am planning on having DTT do my trans. That is a given and was decided long ago. I am howerver lookin into the turbo (the mod after the tranny gets done) in this post. Thanks for the input. I will also be adding a RASP fuel pump when the truck is out at DTT.
Syndicate, For towing most of the aftermarkets don't offer much in the way of ability to provide more hp or lower egts and all will be slower to spool regardless of what everybody says. Piers is right on that point for sure. Twins are born for pulling heavy loads hard. I'm saving my pennies for twins or nothing unless somebody comes out with a single that doesn't surge, spools better than stock and can move at least 1000 cfm at 200degrees cooler. The most popular are the HT 2B which is just marginally larger than stock and offers marginally better performance once spooled or the PS 62/12 which most people buy and then post "I think I should have gotten the 64 or 66". If I trashed my turbo tomorrow either one of these, 2B or 62 would be installed in a flash as they would make a nice little start on a nice set of twins. If my turbo was fine, I'd hold out for twins. ks
ok guys how does the sp 62/14 compare to the BD B1 and super B1 turbos.
Is this turbo goin to cool off my EGTs enough when towing if I keep the quad box on low? Keep in mind I will have the 90 hp injectors in.
