I know this discussion has been beaten to death with a stick, but I would like to get everybody's actual experience with the various programmers out there. I am mainly looking to boost my MPG's. The extra Hp and Tq will be an added bonus. How much will the tuner up the MPG's? I have an almost stock 2006 mega cab w/5.9 and 6 spd. It has a Magnaflow exhaust and a Banks RamAir Box w/o the super scoop. I use my truck mainly as a daily driver, it pulls a 4500 lb boat, car trailer, and a cattle trailer. I've been looking at the following tuners, so any info good or bad would be greatly appreciated.

Smarty Jr.
Superchips Cortex or Flashpaq
Hypertech Max Energy
DiabloSport Predator
or anything that you guys would suggest

the smarty jr is the best by a long shot because of how they handle the timing. it also works with the other upgrades you need to get rid of the in cylinder egr used on your 06

 

I didn't know anything about an in-cylinder egr until you mentioned it and did a quick search on here. Does that mainly consist of changing the cam? How difficult is that? anything like like a gas burner?
