BD triple dog low end tuning option
BD triple dog low end tuning option
How exactly does this option work, is it messing with torque management? Why do they say do not use with a "standard" transmission? I would think it would tear apart a stock auto faster. Also does it leave the low end increase while on the "stock" level?
What can be done to keep an auto trans. pressures in check with the lower RPM/less throttle input = more power. One would think the trans. doesn't know we are making more power with less throttle input.
TIA,
Eric

The low end option is very hard on 1st and 2nd gear in an auto.....its not necessarily adding more power but it is making the throttle position sensor re-act different. Yes it has the same affect on the "stock" level if you have it loaded. I personally love it, my truck moves much easier with it, it is similar to smarty's torque management.
BD told me that the reason it should be used on a manual is because a person wouldn't be able to shift fast enough to take advantage of it.
I hope this helps.

Cool beans, thanks. I had a feeling this was how it worked even when on stock. Now the real question is how do we get the trans. to increase pressure with the little amount of throttle input so we don't hurt them.
