I got a bd race tranny, suppost to handle 800hp blah blah blah. Well I have about 10k on it and the reverse crapped out. I was backin up a trailer, went to pull ahead then back up again and all it did was ingaged and rev up. I tried it in 2hi,4hi,4lo. Wow do I sure love my dodge, 5 stock 1 race tranny in 50k/kms. Makes me want to go out and buy another one.

 

I am no tranny expert but maybe the pump went out or is weak...I know reverse take double the pressure to engage vs the other forward gears...some times no reverse=bad pump.

Is the pump in the tranny? I engaged bout wouldn't move.

 

the pump is in the tranny behind the torque converter....
you or a trans shop should be able to check the pressure's to see if they are in spec.

The band could have a problem as well. I have taken several trannies apart and found the linkage for the band servo laying in the bottom of the pan! Maybe!?
