I seen BD's twin setup on J&H performance's 2nd gen, they ran it on the rollers but I cant remember what it turned. Not bad looking, but I would concider some other companies first, (if I didnt build my own).

I know I will probably hate asking this but here it goes.

onearizoldman,

Here are two companies that really spent some time with me and answered my questions. I would not hesitate buying from either one. I went with the BD Power Super B Single Turbo.

I would take a serious look at the BD Power Super B Single Turbo.
www.bd-power.com
1-800-887-5030

It is reasonably priced, around $1100.00 complete. It spools real quick, keeps my EGT's low and very managable. I think it would be at the least worth a look see. www.Jegs.com sells them, they had the best price, with least expensive shipping. Give BD a call, they will spend some time with you if they are not too busy.

There is also Piers Diesel Research
www.piersdiesel.com
604-888-0057

I spoke with Harry over there, really nice and took his time answering questions. I forget the unit he recommended, it was around $1800.00 + ship. He had a waiting list at that time and none to ship. I don't remember if there was any warranty, I don't believe there was. But, from what I have heard, these guys do stand behind their product.

There is a start, both companies make their own turbos. Piers was a little pricey compared to BD. But, I would not hesitate purchasing from either company. As I stated, I am real happy with my BD. I would try to locate a shop to do the install, just in case. The older I get, the worst my expieriences are with installs. I'll just pay someone.

Hope this helps!

Mike

The dodge I have now had twins on it - they make a huge difference in your low end and torque. And the turbo whistle is loud and unique. Have to be careful though, they can spool up a lot of boost quick. Highest they were was 58lbs (with ease), but at 60 I believe you can cause serious damage unless you do a lot of upgrades to the heads. Keeps EGT low though.

Also, you have to make sure that you check the bolts and condition of turbos often. When they came off there was 1 bolt missing, and 2 were broken and the gasket was completely deteriorated. They have a lot of pressure and vibration to deal with, so you have to watch it.

The only reoccuring problem that we found was with the clamps for the downpipe, make sure that you have the right on on. If not the downpipe will blow off if you generate a lot of boost and have to let off the accelerator quickly without letting them blow-off. Easy enough fix if you got it wrong though.

AK RAM has them also I haven't heard how he is doing with them but I think he likes them. if you go single a TAD B1-04 is pretty good, Piers sells them and that is what I have, it will stay pretty cool on level 5 with the TST PMCR.

TST on 7/7 EGTs top out somewhere between 1180*F and 1240*F at WOT depending on how well the truck is running that day. Good days are getting few and far between. That is with the injectors and VA on 50%. On 8/8 somewhere between 1320*F and 1400*F. On 9/9, 1500*F is pretty common and have seen 1646*F once. Needlessly to say, it doesn't see 9/9 very often. 7/7 is where it stays for everyday driving so I don't have to watch the pyro. All temps are with the other mods in my signature, but with the VA on 50%. It never goes to 100%. I did a lot of porting and polishing on mine before I put them on and I'm sure that is helping keep temps as low as they are. They are definitely holding their own.

BD had a good thing going with their original pricing, but got greedy and raised the retail too much. They are now out of most people's grasp and are more expensive than several kits offered by other manufacturers.

Mark Kendrick does and he has them for 3rd gens as well. He is on TDR. Slightly cheaper because you only buy 1 turbo.

I just got my single Super B installed last friday. Everything went together great. The only surprising thing was my cruising EGT's went up, but the turbo builds boost quickly and keeps the temps down when you put the coals to it, better than stock for sure. The engine just runs better "feels like it can really breath now". The stock turbo is good for building boost fast and gives you that seat of the pants feeling but starts to choke at 2500 rpm's. The Super B feels like it can keep on going. There may be alot of bashing on the Super B, but for the horse power range I want to be at I think its a good turbo, no complaints.
