BD LockOut Question

Hey everyone.

Is it possible to control BD's o/d off module with a switch other than the factory tow/haul one? I just installed mine & don't find the switch pattern to be intuitive or convenient at all. Others haul equipment with my truck too, so I want to make it as simple as possible.

Thanks Ben

I don't think you can. I have one and don't have any problems with it. Just hit the button twice quickly to engage and twice quickly to disengage. Pretty easy to me.

I don't like the way the truck feels when double clicking the tow/haul button, already being in tow/haul mode. When double clicking the truck quickly comes out of tow haul mode & the TCC comes briefly unlocked, then locks back up. All in all, it feels like crap when it goes from locked to unlocked to locked. I'd like to avoid this & have the simplicity of a dedicated OD off switch.

Well, sorry man, you are out of luck. The 05's have a different program for the transmission. The b/d module is designed to work with the switch. You can go to the dealer for free and have the computer reflashed but then you don't need the module. I avoid all that by just engaging it before I start up a hill or something where i don't need o/d.

Any time you are going to have a shift you need to have the converter unlock to be able to make the shift. You dont want to have it shift locked up that creates a violent shift.
