banks sixgun w/speedloader installed

I just got the banks sixgun w/ speedloader installed on my 03. Power is great usable power any more and you will need clutch work. running through the gears I was spinning the tiers to much to get a really good feel for clutch splipage due to it is only about 40 degrees. When it warms up it may slip not sure. I got about 25 boost with no mods to the wast gate if iI put on the big head actuator I should get 30. WOT (aprox 100mph) fuel pressure held at 6# My idle pressure is at 8#. I was really impressed with the EGT's they got to 1100 in position 6 I cant believe they were so cool I had my pyro in the manifold 3rd cylinder from the front before I put the tuner in and I'm not running much hoter than stock. To sum it up you can use every drop of the hp in this tuner empty on position 6. W/trailer I will try later but I don't think it will be a problem. Very very happy and can't wate to get going w/ the trailer.

It was 800 buck w/ shipping. I did the install myself it is pretty simple. If you already have a pyro in it will only take a couple hours. you can buy the kit with or with out guages i had my guages.

yes I did order direct, but I ordered in the first part of Jan when I ordered they told me that it was going to be shipped on the 30th. I called on the 5th of Feb and asked where it was when they told me it was going to be three more weeks I was a little miffed and told them to cancel my order. That must have got them going because they sent it out the next day. They apologized for the inconveinience and I had the kit three days later they seemlike good people at banks. and the big head is about 195.00 OUCH!

I have not been towing do to weather but with egt's as low as they are at WOT and I have pulled some good 2to3 mi grades and still only got 1100 I'm sure 10k is not a problem. If any thing put it in level 5 aprox 250ft and 105 to 110 hp and you can still pull the tongue off your trailer. I bought my truck for towing and want reliable and usable power. I have tried other tuners on this 03 and they were way to hot to tow. I have tried most major tuners on my old 01 including tst, edge, bullydog and bd (never tried blue chip) and found my way back to banks for towing. I tried turbos and things to cool down but then its a clutch then gears then fuel system or putting yolk seels in every 10k miles. I'm not trying to sell anyone one way or the other I will buy what works just trying to help out the towers from making the same mistakes (and money spent) I did. hopes this helps some and sorry so long winded I must be board.

And dont worry about meltdowns because the speedloader will defuel at 1350 if you ever get that high.

gdh11 Yes 1100 is empty but it is on a good hill at WOT in level 6. for the most part I have found that my WOT tests empty on a hill are going to be close to my temps with my trailer on. My trailer is about 10k also if anything I can move to level 5 and I am sure it will be fine, temps on the same run are 1000 to 1050 empty on level 5. I do have 4" and a cold air intake so I might be alittle cooler than a stock truck but I bet not much with my other tuner I tried everything to cool down and the 4" and air intake didnt help much on that box. As for as the prob goes it goes back to the old manifold or elbow dicussion. I would say that the manifold works best for me I did have a probe on the elbow until I put the e-brake on then i moved to the manifold. I found two spots and two ways to do it one is putting it in the third cylinder from the front and use a pencil magnet to get the shaveings out (really dont recommend) or yes pull the turbo and drill the manifold about 1" above the 4 bolts in the rear port. You have to do that for the speedloader so you may want to save that spot I tried to put both probes in the front and rear port above the bolts and had a strange whistle so I moved one back to the firt position and it went away. It would be easier to plug the banks guages in at the box and only drill one hole but I already had guages. guess hind sight is 20/20 **** manifold looks like swiss cheese guess thats what I get for going first. sorry so long again hope it helps. - pulling to turbo is not bad liquid wrench and long extentions for the 2 bottom bolts. I got those from under the truck I'm no mechanic.

local601,
Do you have the HO or SO version of the CTD in your truck? I have a TST box on order but I am thinking about getting the six-gun and speed loader instead because of the number of codes from the TST boxes. The dyno charts on the Banks site show the numbers for the SO motor. I wonder if the six-gun and speed loader would really make a big differance on the HO motor I have or would the peak numbers be the same as on the SO?
