Banks Exhaust
Banks Exhaust
I have a 04.5 Ram. I ended up getting the Banks Kit. Cat back, innercooler and the High Ram. I have put the exhaust system on so far. And so far I have found no difference in power. I also thought it would have lowered my EGT's. But found no diference there. I still have to put the Innercooler and High Ram on still. Has anyone installed these products and found any difference in power? Or do I have something wrong somewhere else?
Any info would help.

From what I've seen/read , the bolt on intake that will not do much besides cost $$$ & Banks is the priciest ,
What size exhaust ? From what I've seen 4" is as much as most will need ,
I think the theory behind intake & exhaust is they are there to support HP , not make it , then with the exhaust , you have an issue with the cat , it should be from the turbo back , to get the advantage of EX. , I do not know when , but close to your yr maybe the factory had 4" , mine was 3" .
Also if you go to the user control panel & give the details of your truck & mods , it can be easier to get answers .
And if your like a lot of owners , you'll be updating that truck sig often .

04.5 should have the 4" exhaust from the factory. Your cat and muffler is the biggest restrictions. Put in the banks kit, but replace the cat with a MBRP cat-delete piece. It's a drop in replacement. When I put my exhaust on, I noticed a drop in the EGT's. It wasn't much, but it did drop some. As for the other stuff, I'm not sure about. I know the intake and intercooler should drop your EGT's even more. You should feel a slight increase in acceleration with the intake. Like John said, the air mods -- with the exception of the turbo -- are really there to support higher HP and fuel later on down the road.
I started my mods with a Banks Cat Back Monster muffler kit and AFE Stage I and Torque Tube. The combo did lower my EGTs maybe 50*-75* across the board. Turbo spooled a little quicker also. You don't have sig to see what else you have.
But to get the benefit out of high flow muffler you really need more air intake to match.
That was a long time ago for me and the only thing left is the Banks muffler. I do like the muffler for performance and sound. No drone with mine.

is that the air ram intake or the red "elbow" looking intake on the top?
