Ball Joint Installation

I talked to a local shop today about installing some XRF ball joints. I was quoted 3 hours per side at $250 per side. Does that sound reasonable for the job?

He has no issue with me buying the XRF ball joints and bringing to them. this is the first place I found that does not require you to buy thier parts.

Next question, for you guys that have the XRF ball joints for a little while... Any issues with them? I am trying to find a place to buy them right now.

Hi bansh-eman,

The Tire Club distributes XRF products and is a DTR sponsor. I have attached the link from the sponsor sub forum for your review. Hope this helps!

Price seems about normal from what I have heard, the only thing is it only takes about an hour to 1.5 hours if the unit bearing comes out easy.

I highly recommend the Spicer Life Series for the third gen Dodge trucks. Try 8 Lug Truck Gear or Northern Drivetrain for the parts.

Contact George at 8 Lug. He will know exactly what you need as far as part numbers.

My brother in law did all 4 of my ball joints (XRF's), and u joints in about 3.5 hours. If you have air tools, and a good ball joint press ( think Snap on), it should go well!
