Balancing 22.5" Wheels & Tires
I was just wondering if anyone has just spin balanced the 22.5" wheels and tires without being on the truck. I know it would be better to balance the tires mounted on the truck with the adaptors, but I am having a lot of trouble finding someone local that can do that. All of the big rig shops just spin balance there tires on a computer balancer here now. If anyone has, is it pretty true? No one around here has the 22.5s on there dually yet, so I don't know what to do. Mine will be here next week, so I need to get all of this figured out. Any help will be greatly appreicated. Thanks, ERIC.

Winner winner chicken dinner!
Spin balancing off the truck works better than equal, but if you cant find anyone you can equal it as a last resort. My tires that ar equal are fine till between 60-65 and around 70 I get some vibration. Any other speeds they are ok. If you can find a shop to spin them let them do it.

I have equal in mine and I wouldn't recomend it. Get them spin balanced, I couldn't find anyone to balance them on the truck either.
What kind of tire are you putting on? I have the Sumintomo, nice tire with great traction but when you drive on gravel they fill up with rocks. If I had to do it again I would go with the michilian.

Thanks guys, that's what I was needing to know. The tires will be the Kumho KRS02. I was wanting to get the Sumitomo ST908 traction tires, but I was afraid of rocks sticking in the tread. I have a bad problem with rock chips now with the stock tires. I may regret it, but I will just have to live with it. I just wanted to say that both of your trucks sold me on the 22.5. Can't wait to get them. I will post pics as soon as I get them on. Thanks again, ERIC.

I just had mine spin balanced off the truck. I had a little shake @ 50 mph at first, but now all is smooth. Tested to 112 mph!
After 3000 miles of in town and twisty roads, the fronts were were chopping on the outter edges, so I cross rotated them. They are smoothing right out now.
The 908's hold rocks like crazy. I go camping in a place that requires 25 miles of gravel road. After I get back to the pavement, I clean them out so it won't beat my trailer up.
Remember to set the air pressure to loads or you will have a very harsh ride empty.
