MY friend has an 05 2500 crew cab short bed with an auto and 373 gears. Since day one the best mileage he can get is 15. He has taken it back to dodge and they recalibrated the ecm. Still nothing. I could use some thoughts!

 

Where is your buudy located near sea level

 

I live in S. CA and my drive to work is 2.2 miles. My errands mostly consist of short trips, I barely even see the freeway only maybe once a month. Since gas prices are up, there are fewer vehicles on the road so city traffic isn't too bad. My ave. 10-12 mpg and only drops when I really use my right foot( read lead foot).

 

Located in Jersey. His drive is average. Some highway other back roads. Other people around here are getting around 17-18

 

Try advancing the timing with a Smarty Jr., a Rocktec speed sensor or do the tone ring mod. I did the tone ring mod and picked up 1.5 mpg. Tone ring mod costs nothing.
