autometer gauge question?
i am finally ready to get a set of gauges. i am going to go with autometer phantom series. I am going to get boost, pyrometer, and trans temp.
the dealership told me that i need a oil sending unit. the trans temp gauge says it has a NPD electrical sender.
Are these the same thing or do i need something extra and also is this the right thing i need

It's the same thing. The gauge comes with a sender. You'll need to decide where to put it though. Half say the pan for consistent numbers and half say the modified hot line with a tapped fitting in the line for the sender to thread into. I'm going to try the line fitting from Geno's first on my dad's truck and if it doesn't work I'll get a line from Diesel Manor or Mass Diesel.
Get the fitting from genos it's none of the hassle of the line replacement and you get the same temp reading .I did the line replacement on my 03 and reads 150 at cruise once warmed up and my dad's 06 with the clamp on fitting get's the same results.
