If they didn't make a decent product they wouldn't be in business.

Once upon a time, there were sticky threads about trans wars, almost always between DTT and ATS owners. They used to get pretty ugly.

Then, all of the sudden, all the rabid ATS fans disappeared. Wonder why?
Trans debates are almost always DTT vs Goerend vs HTS and occasionally, Suncoast and NADP thrown in fr good measure. Very seldom is ATS in the mix anymore.......

Apparently 3 months on the road/2 months in the shop is unacceptable to most folks.
Yeah I know now what I should have done but hindsight is always 20/20

And...they have some SERIOUSLY cool stuff a coming!

Maybe the ATS fans are out driving instead of posting on a forum looking for advice and fixes!

LOL...I just had too.

I am in no way putting down the other good multi disc tranny's out there. There are many good ones....I just really like my complete system.

That is another good fact...

If I lived anywhere close to Suncoast...I might have gone there! Local is a plus.

Yes that is true. Anyone that bashes products and says that one product is superior to all others no matter what it is, usally dosent know what hes talking about anyway. People just arent open minded enough to realize that there are other good products out there besides what they have in their own truck. Yes ive had my issues with my tranny, but i havent had to spend a dime either on it. But just cause I have a ats tranny, im not gonna say all others are junk. Anything is better then a stock 48re. A guy just has to read and search and get whats best for his needs and what he wants out of his truck. IMO

They were removed for obvious reasons. This thread is about ATS transmissions NOT any other brand. There is no need for anyone to post any info here about any other brand of transmission.

The question was NOT "whats your favorite brand?"

I did not get a warranty trans back in my truck until October 20th!!! So like I said if your close it isnt a problem but I was told that new sales go first and there was no extra cores to rebuild mine so I waited with no truck for two months.
WOW there is a reason to make you think twice!

I am not saying not to buy one, if you are near the headquarters they should jump right on it when you have a problem, there is just something about not seeing your customer face to face that can make it feel less important. I know guys who have had problems with all makes of transmissions, and all of the companies including ATS have taken care of it free of charge. It is just the down time that drives a guy insane.

Thats just amazing that your truck could be down for so long. When you spend that kind of money the last thing you want to hear is that they are to busy making more money off of somebody else. There is a lot more than just a good product.....
But that said there are pros and cons. I'm still doing my home work. I've got it down to two........... for now anyway. The only thing stopping me is having to ask my wife for 5k to replace a perfectly functioning transmission. See it even looks silly in writing.

Is $5K the going price of the trans & converter or just the trans?

WOW! I was figuring maybe $3K at most for the converter and transmission.

Yeah I was in the same boat, women just dont seem to understand replacing something that isnt broken. One way or the other I was getting a new one even if I had to break mine on purpose

I am able to get a new VB, TQ, and flexplate for my '06 - $3k installed (using Goerend parts).

Maybe you get what you pay for????

I think the price tag was VERY reasonable for what "I got" from ATS...in terms of both my turbo and tranny.
