ATS intake does it work?

I have been looking into picking up an ATS intake to replace the straw they call an intake. They also say it wont void a warrenty, but I have heard that before. So do they preform well, any info would be great. Thanks.

Honestly, the money can be better spent elsewhere...

They are good if you are really going crazy on your truck, but if you are just into minimal mods, then as speedshift said, spend it elsewhere.

I agree with all these guys, the money could be better spent on something else. But if you're just looking for mods that won't void your warranty then that's probly one of the few, at least it's easy to remove and return to stock but I don't know if you would see any HP gain from it with the current setup you have.

I went against some of the advice on the forum and got one for my truck. I guess I'll have to learn the hard way . One big reason for my decision is its a fairly safe mod. It should be here tomorrow morning and hope to have it on in the next few days. My truck is fairly stock so I am curious to see what changes with performance. You should probably wait for me to reply back after I see what happens to my truck.

I doubt you'll be able to notice anything - especially with a SOTP meter...

Restriction-wise, you can get away with murder in a pressurized dry-flow intake tract.

... but it sure won't hurt performance, either!

I have the CFM+ and no complaints here . You can see mods in my sig ,for my set up it has been perfect . Take off your stock piece and look at how restricted it is with the two bolts protruding into the airflow . My mileage on the overhead jumped 2 mpg ( not verified by hand yet ) and idle is smooth and you can tell a diff on my truck especially after runnin awhile . Some will tell you to spend it elsewhere but it is YOUR $$$$ and truck so enjoy !!! I am not looking to get 600 + hp out of my truck just a bit more power and as many mpg as possible . ATS and Banks have dyno sheets proving increases but they are pricey ,same $$$ as a downloader but so was my ATS exhaust and I don't regret that either !!!!

Mixer i agree, just look inside of one. See how tiny it is. The SOTP feel, very little. But more air in got to be more power. Banks does have an awsome write up about this subject and for the intercooler.

For $375.00 you'r not going to see much gain per $. If you'r planning on spraying water it has 5ea 1/8" tapped holes. You will notice more boost at lower rpms with the ats and maybe a bit lower egts.

If one believes that an intake elbow is going to make a substantial difference in mass flow, one must also believe that the intake elbow is the flow choke point in the B-series Cummins. A close examination of the stock intake ports will pretty quickly demonstrate that such isn't the case.
