You'll get many opinions regarding whether changing the stock intake horn has any real benefits. Both ATS and Banks have made claims regarding hp/performance benefits, but I do not know if the claims are specific to the intake horns or part of other complimentary mods with their systems components. You will still have the restriction of the grid heater in the equasion as the horn sits on top of it. Both units ARE attractive and surely dress up your engine.

There are also 2 other intake horns on the market, one is called the CFM+ www.cfmplus.com and the other is called the Power Flo www.glacierdieselpower.com . I have the Power Flo on my truck and am very pleased with it.

There are better alternatives. I would NOT buy the banks piece. The ATS isn't bad, also there is the cfm plus at www.cfmplus.com. Someone or perhaps a few people custom make one which is consistent in diameter throughout, can't remember the name or who.

another vote for the CFM Plus, it is a composite material so there is less heat soak and u can get a heater grid delete block.

BD has em now also, they have a polished one that looks killer! They don't try & sell them for power, mostly looks and ports for water/meth, etc.

ya I dont think you get huge power gains from them. I ran an ats for a short time and traded it for some other stuff. after it was installed, the dipstick was pushed up a little far.

I had the ATS for about a year and just replaced it with the CFM. The ATS if you take the horn off you will need new o-ring gaskets to reseal the bolts. I like the CFM alot better Looks better and I like the studs for hold down no more flat rubber washers and has a port for a boost gauge but you would have to drill and tap. Got mine from RPM Outlet they have about 100 in stock and the price was good and recived it in two days
