aruora 5000 or sps 66???

wanting to get a turbo to run between 600 and 700-725 hp at the very most but want a drivable truck still. ocassionally tow up to 15000lbs but might consider only havint the turbo on for summer pulls and switch back to stock.
any advice? have smarty and mp-8 now and hope to have flux 3.3s or so eventually. oh yea ita a 06 with a auto.

the 66 will be the better turbo for your needs.i have run a sb66 and loved it but now am running a 5000.the 5000 flows more air and supports power cooler but towing is a major pain.

If your going to towing over 10,00lbs then you will get hot with 3.3's no matter the Bullet A5K or HTT golden nugget. You need twins if you want your demands to be reached. If you had a 6-speed it woulnd't be to bad but auto's with twins work awesome. Would you switch your injectors as well ?your stocker would never be able to keep that set-up cool. 3.3's are a little large to be towing with with a single charger IMO

I have ran both turbos you are talking about but on different trucks. as far as towing with an A5K I dont think you could make it happen. I pulled an equipment trailer with my truck with the aurora and you had to keep the rpm up and the boost going otherwise its a dog. but if you want good numbers and power it will do that. a member on here steered me away from the 66mm this time because his didnt last long on a heavy fueled truck. I went with the aurora this time on my 06 and it wasnt a mistake, when you get it rolling its a monster

IMO the silver bullet 66 from II would be better for your needs then A5K if you want to go that big with a single

you may want to consider a HTT 64/71/13ss excellent single turbo choice

with supporting mods you should get close to the numbers you want with far better drive-ability & towing manners then either the silver bullet 66 or the A5K, plus down the road if you decide on twins your 1/2 way there add a S480 and your in the game !

Between those rwo definatly a 66mm. But like the other guys said really think you need to look at twins or maybe a Cam. My turbo spins very easily and almost like driving a stock truck but have a stick. Guy I know put together a truck for a guy with 06 ATS tranny and a A5K. He towed a skidloader around for a week and was very annoyed with it. He said it would surge real bad and just a pain to tow. Now he has the A5K and A3k twins and he said that it works out wonderfully.

I you really want to get into the 600-700 hp range and have a turbo last...it better be an A5k.

turbos

what if i backed down on the peak hp goal to say 650 and 500 or so for daily driving, would the 66 or even the 64 be more suitable and mabye smaller sticks in the compromise on hp vs not switching injectors and turbo out every summer & fall for a few pulls?? twins are out of the question as its agianst rules for the street class.

64-71-13 would be a awesome selection for you. I had it and it worked great for everything.
